It is sometimes surprising, and often shocking to realise and remember that not everyone has a choice in how they live. Some of us, a few of us, are spoilt for choice.
- We can choose where we live.
- We can choose how we travel around.
- We can choose what we eat.
- We can choose what job we do.
Basically, we can choose how to live our lives.
But for the few of us with a choice, how many of us really choose?
When it comes to property:
- How many of us do the 'sensible' thing because we're told it is sensible, and it worked for someone we respect?
- Or we do the 'proper' thing, because we're told that's what you should do if you want to be seen a certain way, by certain people?
- Or perhaps we do the 'smart' thing, because we don't want to get left behind, and it's really important to get into the market and start climbing the ladder?
- Or we're acting out of fear.
- Or maybe, we were just bored, and needed something to do.
If we're honest, we probably didn't think too hard about it. And we probably didn't consider what the options were that we could choose from.
