Let's not pretend that sharing space, collaborative design and living simply are new ideas. It is perhaps more of a return to our human history than an evolutionary leap forward.
Models of co-design, collaborative seems to appear out of the mist the more we look. Here's a few recent discoveries:
- The German Baugruppen model of collaborative design and alternative property development is getting underway in Australia.
- Back in 2014, and closer to home, this article includes quotes such as describing the role of an architect becoming "...closer to that of a counsellor/facilitator..."
- And even closer, some very clever people have been thinking about alternative property development funding models leveraging of the lessons of crowdfunding, community engagement and collaborative design.
*In the spirit of sharing today: If you've followed the links above, you'll have realised I discovered a new website today. The catalyst was this instagram post from Nightingale Housing, another down-under movement towards better living.
